Hi everyone! Becca asked us to do something for her while she's away! During Family Weekend there is going to be an Open Mic type performance and she needs student performance groups to come and perform. She has attempted to e-mail them and hasn't gotten a response, so if you could go into All-Info and try calling them that should hopefully work out better and get more of a response. A little spiel for you to use is listed below:
Good Morning/Afternoon, this is (name) calling from the Center for Student Development. We are preparing for Family Weekend 2008 and are looking for talented students to perform for the UMass Amherst Live Show on Saturday, April 12th at 4pm. The UMass AMherst Live show is an opportunity for families of current students to experience what performance art opportunities are available at Umass and to relax and enjoy some music/comedy/dance/theater during their stay at UMass.
If you are talking to a person live try to get their group to sign up, if possible. If you are leaving a voicemail let them know that:

If we can get through contacting all of the groups by the end of the week that would be great! There's an e-mail hard copy of the e-mail Becca sent these groups already, and they are the people we should be focusing on contacting. Let me know if you have any questions!

I called the following RSOs and had the following responses from them:
-Dance Team: can not perform because they will be at nationals all of that week
-SVP: can not perform because all three of the SVP groups have shows in Bartlett that night
-Theater Guild: left a message
-Vocal Suspects: spoke to Alice who is not sure but will contact Rebecca if they can perform
-HHCO: left a message
-Gospel Choir: will talk to e-board and get back to us
-Dynamics: left a message
